This sign is usually found on the gate outside construction projects. It says "vehicles a step away from man," and, as such, I feel that it sums up my long walks along the side of the road.
Some of these Italian signs are wonderfully descriptive with their pictures: can't you just imagine the poor stick figure cursing in Italian as he scampers away from the oncoming truck?

So I found out yesterday that the sign actually says that vehicles should go at the speed of man's step, or in other words, slowly. I like my interpretation much more, don't you?
